Cultural Diversity is the idea that everyone from different races or cultures can live together within one culture.
All cultures are very different from each other. They all have different religious beliefs, traditions, foods, and languages. Two cultures, like Canadian culture and Indian culture are unbelievably different. The traditions we may have, like Thanks Giving or Easter, are much different than the traditions an Indian family would celebrate. The languages and clothing is much different in both cultures as well.

Cultural diversity is saying that even though there is such a variety of cultures around the world, and each one has very different traditions and beliefs, these cultures can all live together as one. We can have one very diverse culture without changing the aspects of these cultures within a culture.

The problem with cultural diversity is there are often conflicts with two or more groups of people between cultures. The differences between cultures are not always seen as a good thing, and people often decide their culture is superior to other cultures. This can often lead to wars between countries or, assimilation or segregation of smaller cultures within a larger one.

A worry many people have about globalization is that as the world becomes closer, and more boundaries are destroyed, with it cultural diversity will totally disappear. Globalization may make every culture almost identical to each other by giving everyone computers and cell phones, having everyone speak English, and wear more "western" style clothing. Will this be a good thing, since there will be fewer conflicts between countries, or a bad thing since there will be no diversity or uniqueness between people and cultures?
