A francophone is someone who's primary language, or mother tongue is French. This term can also be used for countries or specific areas. Francophone also refers to the French-speaking culture many areas and individuals have adopted. The rich French culture is a major part of many individuals identity, and the language is just one part of this.
The majority of the population of Quebec is Francophone, and areas of New Brunswick and Ontario also have some groups Francophones.
