Defining Pop Culture

Exploring Globalizations Definition of Pop Culture: A short form of “popular culture” which is the culture of the people. This term often refers to current cultural trends that are spread by commercial mass media.

Pop culture is term that reffers to consumers and consumerism. It is an item that is decided by consumers and popular demand and is said to be in fashion. It is often a homogenizied decision.

Another Great Definition of Pop Culture

A term created in the late 1990's to describe the current widespread trends and fashions spread by the media. Popular Culture consists of everything from the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the sports you play and the movies you watch. Pop culture has become a prevelant force in our lives today, impacting almost everything we do.

The media creates pop culture, and it spreads due to the human need for assimilation.

Hangbags: Handbags are a great example of pop culture. Handbags are a form of popualr culture as they are very popular to this side of the world.

During the sixties the Beatles were an example of pop culture. It was the culture of the people as millions of people around the world listened to their music. In other words Beatlemania was a form of popular culture.

This idol franchise is an example of pop culture that has spread across the globe.

Another example of pop culture is that every year in the United States there is a television show called American Idol. For the period of four or however many months American Idol is on television it becomes an example of American Pop Culture because it is the “Popular Culture”/culture of the people.
